Hive Aero appoints Class Underwriter

Hive Aero is pleased to announce the appointment of Will Gaunt as Class Underwriter, with immediate effect.

Based in London, Gaunt will be responsible for the Aviation Hull War account, alongside Chief Underwriting Officer, Bruce Carman. With 12 years of experience in the aviation market, Gaunt joins Hive Aero from Talbot Underwriting where he was Class Underwriter for the General Aviation book. Prior to joining Talbot in 2009, Gaunt worked at XL Group. He is ACII qualified and a chartered insurer.

Commenting on his new role, Gaunt said:

“I am excited to join Hive Aero and look forward to helping grow the business. The opportunity to assist in developing the highly analytical capacity offered by Hive Aero in this niche market is very appealing.”

Bruce Carman, Chief Underwriting Officer of Hive Aero, added:

“I am delighted to welcome Will to Hive Aero and very much look forward to working closely with him. His knowledge and relationships within the aviation sector will be a huge asset to us.”

Managing General Agency (MGA), Hive Aero, began underwriting in April this year with an initial stamp capacity of $50million, for the account of major Lloyd’s insurers Beazley, Arch, Chaucer and Dale.
